They evade the chasing Orcs and Bilbo is voted as Thain. The Hobbits journey to Rivendell to seek aid and advice from Elrond. Thorin and the Company find out about the Shire and worry about Bilbo. Thorin thinks Bilbo hates him. Bilbo thinks he is still banished. Letters are exchanged. Mutual love is discovered. Plans are made to make a new home in Erebor.
