Summary
Over many years, Scott starts to learn to integrate into normal society, with Shelby's help pf course. He starts to reflect on his past and the things that he did in Oakhurst. He has to work the fine line between empathy and attachment, refusing to get as attached to anyone as he was to Avid. But as decades pass, several interactions with Abolish make him realize that it might be worth trying, just one more time.

Summary
He'd just started thinking about how to escape when the sound of flapping wings drew his attention. Abolish prepared himself, grabbing for his stake. His heart sank when he realized it had been shattered to smithereens in the fall and wouldn't be effective anymore.
A bluish-grey bat swooped overhead, and Abolish's eyes widened when its entire right side slammed into the silver. A loud shriek pierced his ears as the little thing tumbled down into the pit, bringing with it the faint scent of burning fur.
Abolish hesitated. On one hand... that was a thousand percent Scott. There was not chance in the world this bat wasn't the elder vampire. But... the hunter bit his lip to keep from crying out as he leaned forward and picked it up in one hand.

Summary

Shadow Milk still fought for control over the Other Realm- Magic powers spinning out of control..! Light versus dark!There was a collision, an explosion ringing in both their ears that blew both of the cookies, perhaps ironically, the same way out of the Spire of Deceit Shadow Milk had pushed the meddling children off it.
The connection was severed, the magic reversed, the Realms faded away and the two most powerful Cookies around sent plunging towards the deep ends of the dangerous forests of Beast Yeast.

A small second's difference in reaction causes the feuding Cookies to swap bodies and forces them to work together to undo the strange magics. Still hurt from each other's actions, they bicker, sass and struggle to deal with the forced truce between them.
Pure Vanilla, despite everything, still wants to be friends and Shadow Milk struggles against it like a feral cat getting a much needed bath.
