My voice is calm, collected malice. “What did you say about him?”
“Oooh, the tiny traitor has a spine.”
They all laugh until my fist knocks his front tooth down the back of his throat and my knuckles split both his upper and lower lip when I channel Tairn’s energy into my lesser magic to hit him harder and faster than normal. His back hits the floor and he looks legitimately stunned, more so when I follow up to straddle his waist and bring my fist down again, this time into his nose.
