Summary
“I’m sorry,” Sumire says, covering a sniffle with the back of her glove. “This is so embarrassing…”
“Do you—” Futaba starts to offer, but her voice fails.
Sumire’s still looking at her expectantly.
Futaba awkwardly waggles her hand in the scant space between them. “Would it help if you… held my hand?”
For Futaba, returning to the true reality is a daunting prospect — she and Sumire have that in common. It's hard to drag her out of the tar pit when they're both sinking in it.

Summary
“Miss Fey,” Franziska interrupts. “I can spare five minutes to hear whatever it is you are obviously so eager to tell me.”
“Ah, heh. Well, when you put it like that—” she totters over to Franziska’s desk and slams two objects down on top of it. One is a sealed envelope. The other—
The other has her brain rearing back, like a horse refusing a jump. It’s a teddy bear: pale blue, with a frilly white ribbon tied around its neck.
Some time after the events at Hazakura Temple, Maya delivers to Franziska a letter sealed with a heart-shaped sticker. Franziska handles this the same way she handles everything life throws at her: with class, poise, and careful emotional distance.

Summary
Jester asks, “Have you ever kissed a boy, Beau?”
Taken aback, Beau scoffs. “Yeah,” she says. “Once. Never again.” She turns to Jester, and instantly sobers when she notices the look on her face. “Have you?”
“Tell me about it,” Jester requests, with enough solemnity to give Beau the distinct impression that this is the real reason she wanted to talk. “Please?”
Aboard the Squalleater, Jester tries to untangle her feelings about Fjord. Beau helps.

Summary
Yoshizawa fires off a volley of bless attacks. The magic loses its form and splinters away, leaving Kurusu with little more than a tear in her tailcoat.
“Good,” Kurusu praises, and fires a bullet that clips Yoshizawa in the calf. “But you can’t assume your attacks will knock your assailant off-balance. Don’t let yourself get overconfident.”
Hidden in the shadows, Akechi rolls her eyes. That’s pretty fucking rich, coming from her.
Akechi is still owed a rematch. Kurusu, despite accepting her glove, has found a new and frivolous way to waste her time.

Summary
“Gideon,” Paul says, “will you come with us?”
Before she can respond, Harrow says sharply, “Gideon’s dead.”
“Oh, yeah, I’m super dead. No need to let that stand in the way of our tearful reunion,” Gideon sneers. “Jackass.”
Nona is returned to the tomb before Alecto can awaken. Harrow's soul returns to its rightful home; and, for the first time since Canaan House, she and Gideon have a chance to talk.

Mia restlessly twirls her pen. The look on her face suggests she’s considering something very carefully.
She asks, like she’s commenting on the weather, “Do you ever think about going steady?”
“No,” Lana says, without looking up from her work. “I don’t have the time.”
There's an attraction between Lana and Mia — they've both felt it from the very beginning. It's just a matter of finding the time to see it through.

Yukiko suggests, “How about lemon flavour?”
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” Chie says. “Kanji said we should make something simple; let’s choose something simpler.”
Yukiko stares dejectedly at the display of lemons. They’re so yellow, and so enticing.
“I love lemon-flavoured desserts,” she says wistfully.
The Investigation Team plans to celebrate Nanako's birthday. Chie and Yukiko attempt to bake her a cake.

Juniper retrieves her knitting bag and sets herself to work on her latest project. It’s a project Athena recognises: a red scarf, with pink hearts.
A little shyly, she asks, “I know he likes red — um, I assume he likes red — but what about pink? Do you think he’ll like it?”
Athena’s heart hurts. “I’m sure he’ll love it, Junie!”
Athena is hopelessly in love with Juniper, but Juniper only has eyes for Apollo. Athena, already at her wits' end dealing with the fallout of the UR-1 retrial, copes.

Summary
The doors slide open, and there stands Chell.
She strides out of the elevator and through the firing squad, with entirely unearned confidence that the turrets won’t fire at her. They don’t fire at her.
After GLaDOS ejects Chell from the Enrichment Centre, she has only a meagre few months of peace and quiet before the human comes crawling back. GLaDOS doesn't immediately understand why she's back, but the scientific method has never failed her before.

Summary
You could look at her for hours, but she never notices you. She’s a very busy woman; of course she doesn’t notice someone as plain as you. Her work ethic is just another one of the many reasons you’re in love.
You are Mitsuru Kirijo's biggest fan. She doesn't know who you are.

Summary
For as long as he could remember, Akechi had hated the ocean.
Shido’s yacht bobbed up and down in the waves, as if mocking his distaste for it.
In which Goro Akechi is easily seasick.

Summary
“Crow,” Kurusu says. It’s the most he’s said since they activated the MetaNav. They’re alone together; the last two Thieves yet to climb inside the cat-shaped clown car.
“Joker,” he prompts.
“Noir’s fallen back,” Kurusu says. His dagger spins an impatient circle in his palm.
Or: The Phantom Thieves are left with no choice but to team up with Akira Kurusu, the disgraced Detective Prince, if they're to conquer Maruki’s Palace. Goro Akechi, their put-upon and perpetually exhausted leader, isn’t sure how much longer he can maintain this fragile alliance. They’re all at their breaking point, but reality itself is at stake. It’d be nice if Kurusu would start acting like it.

Summary
Despite all reason, Makoto swears she can smell the woman’s perfume, even from across the bar: sweet and floral, with a sharp citrus edge. Sharp, like the smirk she’s shooting in Makoto’s direction, and— shit, she’s been caught staring.
She redirects her eyes down, remembers the drink in her hands, and downs it without a second thought. She forces herself to concentrate back on the increasingly rowdy billiards game, but finds her eyes drifting back to the figure off in the corner and realises, with horror, that she recognises her.
It’s Ann Takamaki, from the year below her in high school. She’s been ogling Takamaki.
Or: Dragged out for a night of drinking, Makoto finds herself drawn to an old acquaintance.

“Don’t tell me you were giving her a speech on flower language?”
“I wasn’t, actually,” Akira shoots back, with just a hint of annoyance.
“What does this one mean, then?” Goro presses on, undeterred. “Passion? Loyalty? Undying love?”
Or: Akira tries to celebrate his anniversary with Goro and Sumire, but sends an unintended message through flower language.

Summary
“Why’d you do it? Was it some kind of power play?”
“Yes!” Goro hisses, voice cracking. “Of course it was!”
Akira just keeps on grinning, bloodthirsty.
“You should’ve seen yourself,” Goro continues, against his better judgement. “It was an absolutely pathetic display.”
“Oh, you’re going to regret saying that to me.”
Or: Akira remembers the time Goro left him hanging. He's recently acquired a pair of handcuffs.

Summary
Akira’s entranced by it. The charm bears the same logo as the ‘A’ on her briefcase. It’s disgustingly adorable.
“A gift. From a fan. It’s not the kind of thing I usually wear – not exactly proper dress for a Detective Princess,” and she must be having a brilliant time mocking her, seeing as how the words ‘Detective Princess’ aren’t accompanied by their usual sneer. “But what’s the harm, right? Nobody in this reality seems to care.”
Except for one, Akira thinks. But clearly, you’ve figured that out already.
Or: After Akechi returns from the dead, she starts making subtle alterations to her wardrobe. Akira notices.

Summary
“I’m not going to force your hand. But I think there’s a way I can help you.”
Akechi stands, unmoving. One of Kurusu’s hands flies up to fiddle with his bangs.
“I’ve been learning to give massages. I’m pretty good, I think. Might help you relax a little.”
Or: Just before the Medjed deadline, Akechi struggles under the weight of his responsibilities and declining public perception. Akira has, arguably, been spending too much time with Kawakami, as of late.

Summary
Crow was no stranger to being threatened by shadows. Even so, his stomach roiled at the prospect of these nebulous consequences. Especially when she punctuated the threat by aiming her gun at Joker.
“How about a double or nothing, then?” He blurted out, trying his best to make it sound like a well-considered proposition.
Or: Joker loses the one-on-one battle in Sae's Palace. Crow suggests a double or nothing.

Summary
Goro glares at him. It’s such a blatantly illegal move that he doesn’t even feel the need to comment on it. He’s just going to wait until he puts the pieces back where they belong.
Instead, Akira flashes a shit-eating grin. “New rules. Friendly fire’s on.”
Or: Akira invites Goro to a game of chess. His rival has a few new rules in mind, but Goro refuses to back down from a challenge.

Summary
It was breathing down her neck. She didn’t dare to look behind her. If she wanted to escape with her life she couldn’t afford to lose even a few seconds.
Right at the mouth of the alley, just as she was about to run out onto the main road, someone walked in front of her. She had just enough time to recognise the fluffy hair and pink jumper, but not enough to stop her own momentum.
Or: Makoto’s had a long night in Mementos and just wants to go home. Unfortunately for her, The Goose has other ideas.
