He can almost see thick black brows raised in thinly veiled pleasure as deep brown eyes study the various variables of an interesting specimen. The words that made his blood run cold in his veins, echo within his mind.
“Our minds are merging, Doctor.”Or: Leonard is struggling though the aftermath of a forced mind meld while Jim and Spock think this is the perfect time to try and bring him into their relationship.

The German ambush had come a week after Bastogne, as sudden and brutal as a slap. And in that moment, in the chaos and the smoke and the screaming, Babe realised he hated them. Hated them in a way that went deeper than anger, a hatred that felt old, ancestral, like something inherited. He’d thought he'd reached his limit back in the woods, but this... this was different.
He’d thrown himself into the dirt, found cover in a shallow depression left by an old mortar shell. Around him, the field lit up with tracer fire and shouting. He stayed low, heart hammering. Somewhere out there, a voice cut through the noise; Luz, calling for a medic. That was normal. That was routine. He could picture Gene already running, boots pounding across frozen ground, kit slung tight, hands already reaching.
But the calls didn’t stop.
When Babe finally dared to lift his head, he saw Luz, still lying in the open, hands clutching at his leg, blood dark in the snow. No sign of Eugene.

Nile watches as Joe gets to his feet and heads towards Nicky, calling out something to him in Italian. Nile is torn between learning Italian, so that she can know what they’re saying, and feeling like it’s an intrusion on something that she’s not meant to hear. "He's very protective of Nicky, isn't he?"
"You're only noticing that now?" Andy asks wryly.
“It all seems a little bit one-sided, that’s all,” Nile muses. “I've never seen Nicky be as...violently protective over Joe.” Andy just hums, and Nile glances over at her. “You think I’m wrong? I know I haven’t been around long, but I’ve seen Joe get killed in a bunch of messy ways and Nicky has never done…that.”
Andy just hums again. “Look again,” she says when Nile throws her hands up in frustration. “Watch more closely. You’ll know when you see it.”

Summary
Clenching and unclenching his hands into fists in his pockets, he tried not to think about how he could feel Hoobler’s blood underneath his fingernails. He’d done his best to clean his hands of every little bit of Hoobler from the crevices in his hands. But he never could seem to get it all off. Felt like the aftermath clung to his skin like leeches on a summer day. Always felt like their blood was permanently staining his hands. Senseless violence and gore that would embed itself into his palms. Hoobler’s death in particular seemed so senseless. So avoidable. The weight of being utterly useless in stopping the bleeding sat its heavy burden on his shoulders. Adding itself to the weight of everyone he couldn’t manage to save.
OR: When Eugene fails to take care of himself, he falls badly ill. Babe is left to pick up the pieces

Doctor McCoy is known throughout the Enterprise as being the most skilled and experienced medical staff, always happy to help you and hear what ails you, despite his terrible bedside manner and his constant pessimistic attitude.
But who takes care of the doctor when it's he who needs to be comforted after a terrible day, or stitched up after a mission or needs a shoulder to lean on? Perhaps it's time for the crew he's taken such good care of to repay the favour.

Summary
A muffled moan made its way past the ringing in Babe’s ears. He froze. Moving his arms away from the sides of his head, he stopped breathing to make sure he hadn’t misheard.
Another grunt and sharp gasp affirmed he hadn’t just imagined anything. His head throbbed with how hard his heart was slamming in his chest with a strength that threatened to crack ribs. Trembling hands lifted up to grip the edge of the foxhole. Using the leverage to pull himself up just high enough to see the snow covered forest floor.
“Please no please no please no please please no no no no,” came a whispered litany of begging prayers to anyone who was still listening to him. He almost choked on his own heart flying up into his throat at what was just a few yards from his foxhole.
OR: Eugene gets wounded, and Babe has to make sure he survives while Spina is stuck in town

Written for This Prompt: Post “City on the Edge of Forever”, McCoy starts coming down with a disease which has been extinct for so long that no one aboard ship has the antibodies for it anymore. Kirk and Spock must help him create a vaccine before the entire crew finishes the incubation period, even though that means keeping McCoy on his feet and working even if it kills him.
