    Summary

The blade is heavier than Neteyam remembers. Or maybe his hands are just weaker now, barely holding on. Truthfully, he can't really tell anymore. Can't tell much of anything surrounding him except the weight of the knife against his palm, the familiar worn grip, and the way Naranawm's light catches on the edge.

    Lo'ak died here. So it's a grave.

Surely, it's not necessarily a goodbye, just a see you later.

    OR

Lo'ak died instead, and it's making Neteyam hear and see him in everything associated with his baby brother.

    Summary

He figures out that the loop has a set time. It always begins with Lo’ak lying on his mat in the family marui the morning of the battle, and it always ends the next day as he connects to the Spirit Tree at Neteyam’s funeral.
Nothing changes, and Neteyam dies. And dies, and dies, and dies.
Is this his punishment? Is this Lo’ak’s penitence for causing his brother's death, for killing Neteyam like his dad always said he would?
“Eywa,” he begs, “what is happening to me?”
    Silence answers him.

    or,

Neteyam can't stop dying, and Lo'ak can't stop waking up that morning to save him.

    Summary

He remembers his family, crying over him as it got harder to breath.

“I ask of your help, to fix what was wronged,” the voice almost had a quiver to it, if he could pinpoint an emotion to a voice. “To fix the miscalculation, the decimation.”

“Please, Neteyam,” the voice keened, begging him. “Please help us.” Thousands of voices screamed out, anguish coloring their tones as they pierced his ears, as a brighter white carved its way into his eyes and brought back the encompassing painpainpain, as the weights on his shoulders almost seemed to push him back as the weight in his chest yanked him down, stealing his breath. He found himself flying back and flying down and being pulled and yet pushed as his breath left him as he filled his lungs as he fell and as he flew—

    “Please help us.”

    --

Or, I fix everything by sending Neteyam back in time to both fix his family and all the death. Cause he really didn't deserve to die and no one else was going to help him. With maybe a cute little interruption from the new Fire and Ash movie...
