Life in Little Rattlesnake had always been lovely. The town was a relatively safe place to live, with kind dragons and humans living in harmony. Even though it sounded like a fairytale, a lot of people loved it.
However, it turned out that soon Little Rattlesnake would fall beneath the claws of a mysterious group, and the town would not be remembered for its friendly faces and cute little shops when the dust settled.

Summary
Is there a dull day when you're a Psychonaut? Or when you're Razputin Aquato? Perhaps. But that dull day certainly isn't today, that's for sure! Oh boy.
Something has appeared outside of the Motherlobe. No one knows what exactly this thing is, and what it's doing here. Whatever it is, Raz thinks it might have something to do with him.
He's not sure what to make of that, though. He doesn't like it, that's for sure. But there's something about this thing has him returning to this thing over and over again, and he can't put his finger on why that might be. Could it actually be all that important to him? What is it, exactly? And why does it... look the way it does?
Of course, when it turns out he's part of the way correct, he's thrust into an adventure so strange and almost nonsensical that it might as well come from a dream. But then again, today just isn't a dull day. It's just that Raz wishes it was.

Summary
Ever since the start of a ruthless empire, Sonic and his little brother Miles have always been dealt the short end of the stick. To even have a good life, the pair have to find something heavily desired by the empire, to the point of having a bounty — one of the Seven Legendary Chaos Emeralds.
So the plan is to find one of the Emeralds, and cash it in for a reward. But the problem is that everyone wants that reward, so by finding one of the Emeralds, both Sonic and Miles would be painting targets on their backs if anyone were to find out they have one. And that's not even mentioning the self-proclaimed guardians of the Emeralds.
However, when the brothers ally with these so-called guardians, Sonic finds himself faced with another problem — he doesn't want to give the Emerald up. But if he can't give it up for the reward... how else are he and Miles supposed to have the life they've always dreamed of?

Zib pressed his back against the door, trying to look around even though he couldn't see in the dark. He was practically blind, and to top it all off, it turned out the thing on his ship was a nightmare death monster!
He was thirty-seven years old! He hadn't lived this long — hadn't faced what he'd been through — to be trapped and killed in his own ship by a creature he couldn't even see! He couldn't die here! Not now!
Zib curled his claws in. I can do this, he thought. I can kick a monster's ass in the dark. No problem.
The monster let out one of its horrible wheezing groans. Zib heard it scuttling around again. Clearly it knew he was here. It hadn't attacked him yet, but it was probably waiting to. It could probably see him and was sizing him up.
He had no idea where it was coming from; it sounded like it was coming from his left, but then he'd hear the monster scuttling around on his right, and at this point he thought it could mess with his hearing so it could kill and eat him for dinner or something else equally morbid.

Lili knew she shouldn't go near that hallway. In fact, every single bone in her body was screaming to just turn around and find a different hallway that wasn't the one with the creepy red lights. But this was also the only hallway that didn't look like the other ones. It was different, and while it made her uneasy, she was relieved to see it.
Steeling her nerves and balling her hands into fists, Lili steadily began making her way through the eerie hallway. This was honestly terrifying. Her eyes kept darting around, every shadow seeming like it was about to jump out at her. The ringing wasn't helping with her nerves.
Eventually, Lili noticed the water she was standing in was... moving in one specific direction. Coincidentally, in the direction she was heading. It could just be that — a coincidence. She had a feeling it wasn't, though.
