Phantom leaves their fading task in the Exhaust Organ to investigate the death of their immortal creator. The Hollow Knight finds itself called out of its relative peace in Dirtmouth to the kingdom that has captured its sister. They both find the ruins of Pharloom snared in a new curse, one of Roots and ash rather than Silk and webs.

Summary
Despite being the subject of myth and rumor, the Does were an ordinary couple. No matter what danger the world threw at them - including the disappearances of Admins, an infection slowly eating away at them, and even coming close to death itself multiple times - they knew they'd be alright. Because they always had each other.
Though, when John Doe wakes up knowing he is already dead, alone, eternally damned... knowing his life is to be molded like clay for the whims of some malevolent Entity... he will not let himself break. He will try to survive, stay true to himself. For her sake.Or, John Doe's gradual transformation into the monster currently in-game. May not have the happiest ending.

Ghost ends the Infection much earlier, leaving Hallownest with something of a society that must now pick up the pieces. Catastrophic resource shortages, an unstable political landscape, and a population scarred by plague leave every able body stretched thin. Still, Hornet is grateful for her mother's presence, something she never thought she would have. This is, of course, complicated when a chorus from Pharloom attempts to capture a weaverling. With the weavers as a whole too injured to run, and no longer able to hide, a new solution must be found: diplomacy.
Pharloom is starved for Silk, as it always has been. When a chorus returns, bearing news of Mother's wayward children, Lace expects things to stay the same. Unfortunately, these stray weavers are guarded by a Wyrm, and Mother is reluctant to challenge another higher being in her diminished state. However, she cannot simply let her children go. Diplomacy is the only option.

The time has come for Hornet to return to Hallownest, accompanied by friends and allies: Shakra hopes to explore the mythical land beyond the wastes, and properly lay to rest a member of her own tribe; Lace fears unraveling without the aid of a Weaver, while contending with the immensity of a future free of her mother’s threads; and the Green Prince lives only only to spite the Citadel, passively seeking a more honorable end than might be found in the rubble of his homeland.
Meanwhile, Hornet returns from Pharloom with magic and knowledge that might aid in the slow recovery of Hallownest and Deepnest–and perhaps offer the chance to call home the sibling she once thought lost to her forever.

Three years ago, the Spectre trapped twenty-one people in a limbo. Split into two teams, survivors and killers, they were forced into death games daily for its amusement. After so, so long, most of them had already lost hope of freedom, objective morphing from finding a way out to survival.
Until 1x1x1x1 wakes up with strange, foreign memories. Memories that clashed with everything she believed since stepping foot into this place – yet, deep down inside, she knew they were right.
The fragile, volatile peace built in the last few years shatters. New alliances are made, old ones rekindle, and a new plan for escape forms, all as the Spectre’s ironclad hold loosens. But questions still remain.
Who is the Spectre?
Why was it running these death games?
And why was it weakening now?
