Summary
Zanka a toujours été rejeté par sa famille, tenu pour responsable de la mort de sa mère en couches. Jamais assez bien aux yeux de son père, il est finalement expulsé la veille de ses dix-huit ans, âge légal d’émancipation.
À l’aube, il est conduit hors de la ville fortifiée sans argent, sans armes ni affaires de rechange, rien, seulement abandonné à un monde qu’il n’a jamais connu, un sol qu'il n'a jamais foulé. Livré à lui-même, il avance guidé par son seul instinct, découvrant des inconnus tantôt bienveillants, tantôt indifférents et d'autres menaçants. Affamé, transi de froid et envahi par la peur depuis son exclusion, il erre jusqu’à une première ville où, incapable de payer une auberge et trop intimidé pour demander de l’aide, il se réfugie derrière une poubelle, recroquevillé sur lui-même pour passer la nuit et tenter de garder sa chaleur corporelle. Malgré la douleur du rejet et la solitude qui l’écrase, il s’endort, quelques larmes silencieuses roulant sur ces jours. Un peu plus loin, cachés dans les ombres effrayantes de la nuit, deux hommes le surveillent. Ils le suivaient depuis son bannissement de la grande ville, Zanka ne se doute même pas du danger qui le guettait. -

Summary
Zanka just wanted to have a peaceful time going and practicing his figure skating, but when he get's to the ice rink he is met by the hockey players on the ice already.
