Jean blinked. Jeremy had asked like he wanted to know if Jean wanted tuna for lunch. But he handed over the washcloth and turned his back all the same.
He almost flinched at first contact, but Jeremy's hands were slow and careful as they gently washed him, weaving around the scar tissue and feather-light on his still-healing ribs. Jean was unused to being handled with such care. As if he were breakable. It was unfamiliar. It was nice.
Jean had never felt shame about his scars before. His body a tapestry of survival. But now he wondered what Jeremy saw when he looked at Jean's patchwork skin. It probably didn't evoke any of the hot, tangled feelings Jean felt when he laid eyes on Jeremy's lovely tanned skin. He blinked quickly and looked up, inhaling sharply.

Summary
His mouth is sour with the taste of metal.
He runs his tongue along the fronts of his teeth before spitting onto the road below him, anything to try and clear the blood. His mouth doesn’t seem to be actively bleeding and he tongues a split lip, so that’s where it was coming from at least.
With his good arm, he tries to roll over to better get up from the road but his head promptly puts him on his ass and leaves him lying on the ground, gasping. It’s like someone has taken his head and put it under a lightning strike the way the pain fills his entire skull and shoots down into the rest of his body, leaving his fingers and toes tingling. Likely head injury, he mentally catalogues. His helmet should have mitigated most of it so he wonders how hard he hit his head for it to hurt like this and for his helmet to be missing in action.
Laila was going to kill him.
