No aches. Because he hadn’t been beaten six ways from Sunday yet. His parents in Italy, because they went during his summer holidays in 1983.
The horrible thing about this was that he could believe it. Once he accepted portals to alternate dimension, gruesomely violent monsters from said dimensions, superpowered teenagers and state conspiracies to match it all, time travel wasn’t that difficult to believe in.

Thunder rumbles constantly in the distance by the time Eddie settles himself back in his room, plopping down at his desk and picking up a pencil to draw. He sketches aimlessly, thinking ruefully about Chrissy's absurd suggestion.

In this small town, full of even smaller minds? He's more likely to meet a creature from the Monster Manual.
Speaking of, Eddie looks down to where he's scribbled a few very rough outlines of a sprite in various poses. He must have unconsciously drawn the fae creature because of all of his latest campaign planning. These tree dwelling spellcasters were going to play a big role in his upcoming arc.
Eddie slowly fills in the details of the creature's face, giving it the typical sharp, handsome elven features and – Eddie's own personal weakness – voluminous perfect hair. He smiles to himself as he works, making up more backstory as he draws in the character's fancy clothing and surroundings. This guy would be a prince, of course, living in the largest hardwood in the forest, full of all these little rooms with carved furniture and rugs of the finest pine needles.
Or, Eddie meets his dream fae who makes all his wishes come true. Literally.

The wolf stays where he’s at and for a moment Eddie feels extremely stupid for trying to communicate with an animal but then the wolf stands up- and woah he’s way bigger up close.
Eddie watches as the wolf steps closer and giggles at the wet cold feeling of his snout sniffing at his hand. He brings it up to pet through the wolf’s unbelievably soft fur and marvels at the glisten of the golden-like color even in the moonlight. “You do too, huh?” Eddie giggles, scratching behind the wolf’s ear as he sniffs at Eddie’s face. “I think I’m gonna’ call you Ozzy.”
Ozzy huffs and Eddie laughs.
“Yeah. Ozzy suits you perfectly.”

Summary
After running away from home after an argument with his father, Steve storms off into the woods only to accidentally stumble into the unseelie king’s lavish party. The king, Eddie as he likes to be called, is taken by Steve and dances through the night with him. Though Steve enjoys himself, he feels the need to return to the mortal realm, but soon learns that he can’t as he has become property of the king after trespassing on a sacred fairy circle. Steve is forced to stay and begins to learn that all is not as it seems, especially in regards to his own past.
(Labyrinth inspired story but they share zero plot points.)

To the fae prince – Steve Harrington, as the people of Hawkins know him – the plan had seemed simple: find a small, inconsequential town and learn more about the humans his subjects are so infatuated with. And sure, his parents don’t exactly know he’s left the palace, let alone the realm, and yeah, maybe he didn’t think about the culture shock. These are minor obstacles though, and Steve can definitely make this work.
And it’s going great – really! – if you ignore the fact that Steve is being harassed by a curly haired menace with an astonishing lack of self-preservation and too much curiosity for his own good. What’s Steve supposed to do, just leave Eddie to be eaten by the monsters that have cropped up out of nowhere? Yeah, right.
Steve isn’t quite sure which is worse – admitting that he might be more than a little distracted by a painfully annoying (and distressingly mortal) human, or dealing with the onslaught of wrongbadawful that the demon creatures evoke whenever he gets near them.
One thing’s for sure, though: his parents are going to kill him if he ever makes it back home alive.
