When he was a kid, before any markings appeared everyone in his family told him that having a soulmate was magical, because it would be the person who would understand you the best, would complete you.
So when aged five his first marking appeared in the form of a large bruise, albeit faint, he went to his mom over the moon.
Then everything changed when the Bond Reader said he was part of a triad. Then, suddenly, he was a freak, and his bond was corrupted, bad, wrong. And as he grew up, he learned to ignore it and stretch it so, so thin, that nothing would appear on his skin. So thin, that he would never feel what the other two were doing, wherever they were.
What he didn't know, is that his markings were cherished and loved, still appearing on his soulmates' bodies.

Steve McGarrett can dodge bullets, disarm bombs, and probably bench-press a small car, but put him in a room with Danny Williams wielding a highlighter and color-coded spreadsheets, and suddenly he’s out of his league. Who knew the deadliest weapon in HQ wasn’t a grenade, but a smug admin who schedules you into submission? If you find yourself rooting for Team Smug Tie, congratulations, you’ve caught the fever. Resistance is futile. Also, Steve, loosen up. It’s just “buffer time,” not a hostile takeover… yet.
