It was just a fact of life he grew to expect, grass is green, snow is white, and regulus black was supposed to die young. So, when he turned nineteen, he knew he made a mistake in thinking he could live Long, he could feel it down to his bones that his expiration date had passed, like the universe was trying to course correct the mistake of him being alive.
