    The Cultivation World was no stranger to gossip.

    From the minor clans to the major clans, there was an implicit belief that they were superior to ordinary people, even those who ran the country from the Imperial City; some cultivators could attain immortality and become gods; they could fly on swords, subdue living creatures with music, and survive for long periods without food through meditation.

    But they were still human. And it was human nature to prosper by meddling in other people’s affairs.

    This gossip in particular had the potential to spread and ignite like a broken lantern thrown into a pool of oil: the lucky ones had witnessed the highlights live, the others would complain for a long time that they had missed such a spectacle.

    Locals claim it came from the Burial Mounds!

    It's a spirit; a giant fox! They call it Húlí!

    How very on the nose. Even he has heard the murmurs from within the Jingshi, and so Lan Wangji is expecting the summons well before it reaches him, his qiankun pouch already packed and Bichen humming steadily at his hip. Her presence is a warm and long-familiar weight that sways with his steps as he makes his way to the Hanshi, where Brother is no doubt awaiting his arrival.

    Years ago, the YLLZ went missing. Nobody knows what happened. His true name as well as his appearance vanished not only from all historic records, but also from everyone's collective memory. The YLLZ turned into a legend.

    HGJ’s eyes soften when he sees the man clad in black and red. The Juniors stare in shock at their Senior and the rogue cultivator. Soon they start looking forward to the night hunts with Hanguang Jun’s husband.
    Suddenly, a new threat arises which forces all the clans to join hands once again and go to war. The battles are fierce, but the clans' forces are dwindling and a drastic decision is made: They call upon the Yiling Patriarch for assistance in this dire time of need. His help however, comes with a price: HGJ’s hand in marriage.
    How outrageous! The Juniors start Mission: Rescue Hanguang Jun from the evil clutches of the Yiling Patriarch!
    Things get out of hand and shenanigans ensue. It is chaos. Pure chaos. They have no idea who the YLLZ actually is.
    Meanwhile Wei Wuxian thinks it’s very rude that his ducklings are actively trying to sabotage his wedding.
