"It's always the kitchen, huh," Eddie says after taking a swig off his beer and pulls a chair out to sit.
Buck leans against a counter facing Eddie. "What?"
"Our serious talks," Eddie elaborates. "They always happen in one of our kitchens. mostly mine, but still."
Buck arches a brow, his fingers tightening around the cold beer bottle in his hand.
"Is that what we're doing? having a serious talk?" Are you going to grab my shoulder and point an accusatory finger at me again?
Eddie's beer bottle clanks aggainst the table as he puts it down and lets out a sigh.
"It's what I came here to do."

Summary
Before Buck can go back to work after recovering from his injuries from the ladder truck crushing his leg, he finds himself struggling in more ways than one, leading to him having to move back into his Jeep after he thought he'd never have to again. Struggling to believe he deserves the help he needs, he keeps this secret to himself, accepting that maybe it's just what he deserves.

"How are you even gonna ‘educate me’ on chapstick flavors when I can’t get a taste of them myself?”
“I’m merely teaching you what flavors exist,” Buck shrugs. “And you’ve had root beer before, you know what it tastes like!”
“You said it tastes different in a way you cannot explain with words, which obviously means you should show me! Mr. Miyagi would be proud.”
“I don’t want other people using my chapsticks! Maddie taught me not to share them when I was young, I think she read it in a magazine,” Buck says, eyes bright as if he’s quoting a famous philosopher.
“Fine, then just—” Eddie stops talking to step forward and quickly press his lips to Buck’s.Or, Buck keeps losing his chapsticks so he buys a whole pack, all in different flavors. Eddie wants to know what they taste like. Obviously, the only logical way to show him would be to (platonically!) kiss him every day, right?
