Summary
Miyabi may have mommy issues, and is taking them out on Yanagi. Yanagi might be in love with Miyabi, so the whole thing ends up being convenient for them both.
He’s never been the type to read body language, but Yanagi’s crossed arms, constant fidgeting of her glasses, and inability to look him in the face kind of suggests that he should drop this conversation. Still, his mouth ends up moving faster than his thoughts. “Do you not like the chief back, or something?”
Yanagi’s face flashes red, and a flood of words come out. “I do like her! She means a lot to me, Asaba. She’s such a hard worker, and she gives me so much purpose. I want her just as much as she needs me. It’s just complicated since she's… her, and I’m myself.”
Harumasa just stares awkwardly, slack jawed and dumbfounded. How did he not realize the deputy chief was gay sooner?
