It’s the part that Steve doesn’t think Bucky sees. At least, he hopes that Bucky doesn’t see. The part where all of this breaks Steve’s heart just a little bit every time. And when Bucky climbs into his lap, soft and loving the next day, he starts the process of patching up that break for Steve. But every time Steve’s worried that this time it won’t work, that this time he’ll believe the things that Bucky said to him, that he’ll stay a little bit broken. And what happens next time if he’s already got a chip in his armor?
This one, this particular meltdown, feels like one that’s going to stay. He’s not sure he can process it enough for Bucky to be able to fix it. He had really wanted to hurt Steve. His intention had been for that vase to hit Steve and even after he had thrown it, he had seemed more upset that he’d missed than anything. Maybe this was actually going to be the time Bucky wasn’t sorry.
Bucky isn't having the easiest time adjusting to being free from HYDRA and Steve is doing his best to be there for him but it's hard when Bucky's anger seems to be directed at Steve so often. After a particularly bad fight, the two have a hell of a time making up.

“Can’t handle the truth about your daddy?” Rogers hisses.
Bucky can feel his body go completely cold, before his heart kicks into action and suddenly he is burning with rage. He grabs Rogers’s bare arm. “You ain’t going to say shit about my father, you hear me? Keep that pretty mouth shut or I swear I will hurt you, Rogers.”
It goes so quickly. One second they’re standing chest to chest, screaming in each other’s faces, the next second Bucky is on his back on the kitchen isle with an ice-cold hand wrapped around his throat.

Bucky and Steve can barely stand each other. Bucky's job is to manage and hunt vampires, and Steve's responsibility is to fetch and rehabilitate vampires. There's clearly a disagreement of interests here, and with centuries of racial dispute between wolves and vampires, they're barely able to not butt heads. It doesn't help that Bucky finds Steve kind of cute.
