And when they forgot it, their mind was clearer and the ugly knots in their stomach were lifted, and Two would take a deep breath and feel the fresh air fill their lungs and exit, and everything would be okay.
The world would look brighter, just as it should be.

Summary
Sounds of a bonfire starting crackled from a nearby floating island from the wooden house. As sticks clattered onto the ground, a soft blue flame emerged from the base of the bonfire, slowly consuming pieces of wood as it continues to flourish and grow. Unlike a typical blue flame in the real world, the mystical fire was roughly the same temperature as an average orange fire. On a nearby log sat a marker.
The marker had a dark blue cap, with a bandana of a lighter blue tone wrapped around their head. Around the base of his body was a strap that held their trusty lantern on a stick, which was now resting on the ground. Inside the navy colored lantern was a gentle blue fire that flicked every once in a while. The marker held a smaller stick in their hands, and skewered onto it was a marshmallow.

"…Luck…?" Razor mumbles. He has heard this word thrown around, but he doesn't know it well.
"Yeah, like, uh." Bennett spreads his hands in odd gestures. "Bad things just… happen to me, I guess? Not just me either – anyone close enough to me. Guess you got caught in the crossfire too… sorry again." He gives Razor a sad-looking lopsided smile.
Razor stares. Is "luck" some kind of magic then? Bennett's either delusional or Razor still doesn't get it, but either way, he knows one thing.
"Stop saying sorry," he demands.
"…Huh– wha?" Bennett says dumbly.

Summary
In which Mumbo crosses several towns, learns some creative methods of self-defense, fights some monsters, sees things no human is meant to have seen, befriends a stranger, steals multiple cars, has inconvenient moral scruples, grows increasingly terrified of his own culpability in the apocalypse, grows a spine, blows up at least one building, accidentally prevents a murder, and attempts to find his best friend in the futile but ever-burning hope the man’s still alive.
He has to say, he’s so exhausted and terrified that he thinks he might just be mad?
(OR: the one where, after most of humanity turns into a series of terrifying monsters, Mumbo decides he’s going to risk his life on an apocalypse road trip to try to find out if Grian is alive. Things, as you might imagine, devolve from there.)
