Sweet, steel-eyed Earwen with rosy lips and cheeks, calloused hands, star-lit hair, pure white feather dresses like the swans that the Teleri were all so fond of. After Alqualonde, she never wore those dresses ever again. Earwen and Eonwe were beautiful in their own right but together–
Arafinwe had told himself often enough that he ought to be grateful for what he still had left. It didn't help that Eonwe possessed the beauty that was the natural world. Ainur were always beautiful, it was the nature of the world of course. Beautiful things were good, ugly things were bad. And Eonwe was of great heart, of great beauty, with wings that were like glass directly under a ray of sunlight after a heavy storm– illuminating, untouchable, irreplicable.
It was no secret that the House of Finwe had a taste, an unfortunate, destructive taste, for pretty things.

Bodies twisted and piled onto one another, the absence of life rendering them all equal for once. Tables overturned and broken, tapestries ripped and shredded. Tiny hands grasped on swords, shattered potion vials glittered and reflected the drying blood and dying light. There was not a single part of the floor which had not tasted fresh blood.

The Winters of Kaer Morhen were cold and long, cruel in the way it slithers under one's skin and shakes the muscles and bones.
But it was warm.
The fireplace burned ever bright, quick scarred hands fitting from one project or chore to another, never stopping. They had made the crumbling keep into a bright home and Vesemir could be no prouder of his Witchers, old and new, from his School of the Wolf - little though their numbers are, little though all their numbers are - to those from the Cranes, Vipers, Bears and so many more.

This fic is a short, unbetaed and mostly unedited piece of fiction that looks briefly at Vesemir, his feelings - based on true assumptions or untrue - and his bond with the surviving Witchers on the Continent. It explores the impact on the body of having a Witcher's life and despite the fact one may be very old and experienced, it does not mean one can escape insecurity or the irrational thoughts clogging one's self-worth.

For Silvergifting week 2024, Day 7: Post-canon - New beginning. Valinor. Reconciliation. Recovery. Remembering the past.
Sauron is not as gone as many would think. Not even the Valar themselves notice as his form slips back into Aman, Valinor and then a new Formenos for a reconciled family.
Celebrimbor wonders why he feels so uneasy but relieved.
His family does not know the extent of his poor life choices and frankly, neither does he.

Antilcohus has arrived delivering the news of Patroclus’ death.
They mourn. They, the soldiers who loved their quick-witted steady-handed Patroclus, the kings their advisor who was peer to gods in counsel, Patroclus' closest friends and allies. And, of course, Achilles. Achilles, Achilles, Achilles. Swift-footed Achilles who loved Patroclus. Great-hearted, brave son of Meniotius. Now, a denizen of Hades. Never to be seen alive again.
TLDR: Achilles finds out about Patroclus' death. He's not taking it too well, to say the least. Neither are the others.

Summary
High on Mount Olympus, the Gods hold a party celebrating Zagerus' achievements. It is cut short by the arrival of a shade who gravely informs them of a situation that should not have been possible. It threatens their lives but they are Gods. What do they have to fear?
Basic plot and teases something large but honestly, it was just a side project. I might expand upon later (hah, we know that will likely be never) but in the meantime, feel free to comment, write your own inspired work (provided with credit) or just have a fun read.

In a different universe, the Belmont family home was burnt down in 1468, leaving behind Trevor, homeless and without family. In this one, they all survived, setting off a chain reaction that not even Death could predict.
Au: Where not only does the Belmont family survive but Trevor is too traumatized and good-hearted to let an innocent woman (and another family) burn at the stakes. That is, he accidentally saves Dracula's wife, Lisa of Lupu otherwise known as Lisa Tepes, and is having a series of crises due to the consequence of his own actions.
This is an expansion of the one-shot I did, also named What Could Be.
