There was no call or text before a key was unlocking his door. No "can I stop by?", or a " u home?". It sent something akin to fear creeping up the back of his neck. Tim tamped it down, moving swiftly from his spot hovering over the kitchen counter above his supper to disarm the security system before it could let out a shrill alert at the door being pushed opened.
He turns with a frown, finally surveying the girl who had stopped in the doorway at the sight of him being right there, "Tamara?"

Damian Wayne was unshakable. He was confident and competent. He walked through fire and could withstand the burn. In fact, he thrived in the heat.
He was like a frog slowly being boiled; he never knew a life without the burning heat of the Demon’s nest. Never knew anything outside of the burning oppression and expectations that had been thrown at him since the day he had been created.
Maybe that’s why the cold chill of Gotham was only that much more shocking.

When Damian gets sent to Bruce by Talia, it is far from easy for him to make sense of his new family: the interactions seem so foreign, and the relationships are too tangled. Not to mention that there seem to be doubles of Bruce's sons, for some reason.
His own harsh and rather traumatic upbringing is not helping matters, and learning to be a son and a brother is not going to be a smooth journey (for anyone involved).

When Damian was a child, for a time he had an older omega brother named Jason. Jason was kind, and gentle, but simple. He would never hurt or betray Damian. When Jason died, there was no funeral.
Years later, when Damian moves in with his father, he finds a photo of Jason. Dozens of them, in fact. How could he ever tell his father that his older son came back to life, but died again before he ever knew he was back? Instead, he holds this failure close to his chest, impacting his ability to connect with his father and his brothers.
And then Jason shows back up, alive and well, and Damian is left with questions only his mother can answer.
