After the battle with the Exorcists, Husk challenges Valentino to a game of Blackjack for Angel's soul.
Val doesn't play fair and summons Husk's ex to ruin his game, so Angel steps in with moral support. When Husk wins, a golden chain locks around Angel's neck and Angel is surprised to find that he doesn't want Husk to remove it.
Cue a sweet, complicated romance - one that Val isn't too pleased about.

Summary
Angel's heart stopped as his magenta-pink eyes locked on the pink bed that Angel had been thrown on too many times over the years. However, it was not the bed that made his heart stop, but who was on that bed.
"Husk!” Angel started to run towards him, but Valentino's hand grabbed him first, pulling him back with force.
Angel's eyes filled with horror, and he couldn't look away. There he was, Husk, his Husk that had been missing for hours. The cat demon was tied to the bed, his arms and legs bound, making him completely immobile. Husk's eyes were covered with a pink fabric that Angel recognized was one of his stockings, there was a red ball shoved into Husk's mouth, robbing him of the chance to speak. He didn't look hurt, but Angel knew it was only a matter of minutes before he was hurt.
The spider's head snapped quickly at Valentino, "Val, no! You...you can't...D-DON'T HURT HIM, YOU FUCKING SHITHEAD, DON'T YOU DARE HURT HIM!"
"Oh, Angel baby," Valentino's floating voice whispered, pulling Angel closer to him, one of his hands coming up to caress the frightened sinner's cheek," I won't hurt him. You will,"
"What?"

Finally, back at home, Branch should be happy. He has Poppy, his brothers, and everything he's been wishing for, for years. But home means he's safe. Of course, that's where the nightmares would strike.
He turns to get something else from the picnic basket, but when he looks up the field by the river is gone. He's on a thick tree branch, moss climbing up the side and making a soft cushion for him to be sitting on. Turning quickly he felt his heart speed up, Poppy was gone, and when he looked down so was the blanket they had laid out to eat on. Ear twitching, he could hear soft familiar humming something that nagged in the back of his head like an old lullaby, a fuzzy memory of something. Standing up, he followed the sound.
“Oh my little Bumblebee are you here to help Granny?” a soft voice called out.

He notices that Husk never shares his own problems, even tough he was the one who made Angel see the importance of opening up to others.
Determined to get to know the grumpy sinner better he sets out to get him to talk.
Then one day, Husk vanishes form the hotel to take care of a job for Alastor, only to reappear battered and wounded.

The antlered monster let his hand run through the feathers of Husk’s wing, ignoring the cat’s terrified pleading. “I’ll do you a favor, Angel,” he hummed, the sigils never wavering around him and the dials now working at a steadier pace. A tinge of familiarity hit Angel Dust as he forced himself up off the ground. The overwhelming sense of control that Alastor held was so much like that of Valentino. “No more of that fruitless flirting anymore. I’ll show you how to get this big kitten to loosen up, all for you.”
Angel took a step towards the bar, his bottom hands making the flat-palmed gesture for Alastor to stop. “H-hold on, Al, I-I didn’t mean it like that.”
“I’m sure you didn’t, Angel,” the Radio Demon hummed, claws dancing over those shimmering feathers. His words were free of sarcasm. “But beneath all your camaraderie and sharing the agony of slavery through song, we all know you envy ol’ Husker here, don’t you?”

Husk and Angel get into a heated argument after a rough day at the studio. After Alastor gets a bottle smashed on his head as a result, he decides to get involved and show Angel a nice trick he learned to get Husk to behave.

He didn’t want him. Never wanted him. There was never going to be a feeling of love in what this demon wanted. He was just taking. Taking something he wanted from him at the time they first met.
Husk and Alastor have the moment he's been waiting for since the night they met. Only thing is, Alastor is the only one who wants it. And now Husk must be his marionette in this twisted version of their love.
