“Put it on speaker,” Savannah quiet shouted nearly thirty girls all huddled behind her just passed the entrance of Maura’s bedroom.
“No.” Maura bit back.
“Yes,” they all whispered, which ended up sounding like one big shout due to how many of them there were.
“No.”
“Maura?” Jane asked, trying to figure out what was going on.
“I swear I’ll tackle you,” Savannah threatened. “Speaker.”
Maura pulled the phone from her ear to whisper shout at her sister. “Not a chance.”
“Hello?”
There was a scuffle then a yelp and suddenly Maura found herself on the floor on her back with Savannah on her chest and Nina holding her phone, the speaker icon lit white.Jane get's paired with a member of the sorority Alpha Chi Omega for a class project; during their study session she meets VP Maura Isles and sparks fly. I don’t need any of them freezing up because they’re seeing more death than life.” Then like the drop of a hat the lieutenant’s entire demeanor shifted back. She was relaxed. “They said you were the best.” Cheeky almost, and without a doubt cocky. “So go be the best Dr. Isles. I got people to save.” She tossed Maura a challenging smirk and turned jogging towards carnage.
The universe seems dedicated to pushing Maura Isles and the cocky lieutenant firefighter Jane Rizzoli together after a first encounter at a major city accident.
