Summary
When the war ends, Viktor leaves Jayce behind and disappears.
Jayce searches for him through all timelines and possibilities, and tries to put the broken pieces of Viktor (and himself) back together.
He just didn't expect to wind up in the past and meet a younger Viktor before his apartment exploded, nor the events he would unwittingly set in motion.
"Goodnight, Jayce," Viktor breathes.
The last thing he knows is a gentle caress against his forehead. Cold. But tender, featherlight. Afraid.
And he bolts awake in the dark, only a mere few hours later, sweating in the cold of the night.
Alone.

Then there's Jack, sitting sideways in the window with his gun drawn and resting in his lap as he does something with the wrist straps in his hands.
