Strange things sometimes happen to you when you're famous. This is one of them.
Sometimes you walk through the door to a dressing room and come out in a different story. And sometimes, living someone else's story is the only way to see through to your own happily ever after. When the Fall Out Boys land in 1959 Rydell High, they find themselves thrust into roles in the original high school musical. No matter how unsuited they may be to playing Greasers and Pink Ladies, or how badly Gerard doesn't want to be seen in a poodle skirt, they've all got parts to play. And if they don't play their parts, the parts will play them.
For @secretstudentdragonblog and @scarredsodeep because this thing started out as a joke about a random shot in the "Dance, Dance" video and BALLOONED.
Starring Joe Trohvolta (hey, you tell me his outfit in "Dance, Dance" wasn't 110% Grease and I'll call you a liar), Sandra Dee Stump, Andy Kenickie, Petey Rizzo, Frenchie Way, Cha-Cha Way, and assorted Agents of Story that will do whatever it takes to get the boys from FOB and MCR (and poor Lyn-Z who knew what she was getting into and volunteered anyway) into the roles they were very much NOT born to play, but will anyway.

Summary
Thanks to a charitable trust known as the Wentz Endowment, Dr. Patrick Stumph joins the University faculty's music department from a small religious college where he had to repress almost everything about him. Good manners indicated that the first thing Patrick should do in his new position was to grant his patron a demonstration of his talents. Little did he know that he would, in fact, be composing odes to the Wentz Endowment, but in the most unexpected way possible.
Pete Wentz, playboy scion of the Wentz family, is ABD on that PhD, and determined to stay that way as long as there are University co-eds willing to listen to his beat poems at open mic night, and as long as his family entertains the expectation that Pete will settle into the businesss of Being Properly Rich. But when the hipster musician who steals his coveted open mic spot turns out to be the beneficiary of his family's largesse, a simple game of revenge will teach him a lesson he'd never learn inside a classroom.
A College AU full of pretentious academics, flaky radical philosophies, and boys who are too smart for their own good getting stupid on love.
