Summary
A person the Sully's have missed so very dearly ever since his disappearance when he was just a child is standing in front of them alive. They had looked for him for a long time but had eventually assumed the worst when they never found their oldest son, Spider.
Here they stand on an island of reef people that they ask sanctuary of, and their missing son is alive and well. Spider looked older now, and much stronger. They all wanted nothing more than to run up and engulf him in a tight embrace for the many years they lost together. But nothing could have prepared them for the words that would come out of his mouth.
"Sanu, who are these people?" Spider addresses the Tsahik of the Metkayina softly.
That sentence was enough to officially drain any happiness they previously had at the sight of Spider. Spider doesn't remember them, his family that raised him since he was a baby until he mysteriously vanished.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Steve leans over and snags the flannel Eddie had been wearing out from behind him, shrugging it on quickly before Eddie realizes what he’s doing.
Annoyingly enough, it takes several minutes for Eddie to notice.
“No, not the flannel,” Eddie warns when he finally glances over, closing his notebook slowly and putting it to the side. “You’re holding half my wardrobe hostage already!”
Steve snickers, standing up and backing away a few feet.
“I guess you’re just going to have to come get it, then.”

“You forgot Will’s birthday?!”
The look on Steve’s face is nothing short of flabbergasted, and Eddie can’t exactly blame him. El and Mike are staring back at them with wide, guilty eyes and he would never touch a hair on El’s head but he kind of wants to backhand Wheeler.
“We only just moved to California and it was very difficult,” El continues, tears welling in her giant, brown eyes. “He is like my brother and I would like to make it up to him.”
“Yeah,” Mike chimes in, gesturing at El with his thumb. “It was kind of distracting when El knocked a girl in the head with a roller skate.”
All three of them glare at Mike. El opens and closes her mouth a few times, apparently at a loss for words. Eddie takes an aggressive step forward. He’s never hit a kid but if he were going to it would be Wheeler, definitely.
Before he can speak his mind, Steve steps between them, coming to the rescue (which is so very him that it makes Eddie’s chest ache). “Okay!” He claps his hands and rolls up his shirt sleeves. “Here’s what we’re gonna do.”

OR: Eddie wakes up after top surgery to find an angel standing over him. He's not sure why, but he's definitely not going to ask questions, especially when the angel is calling him baby(!).

He snapped out of it, grabbed his backpack and small duffel bag and climbed out the window, not caring about the rain soaking his already damp day clothes. Now wasn't the time to think about who will see him, they have all seen each other at their worst, it was fine.
Despite having thought that, he felt a huge amount of relief when he saw that it was just Eddie in the passenger seat of Steve's BMW, looking as worried as the man himself. Eddie was also an important figure in his life, so a weight was lifted off his shoulders. He really didn’t want any of his other friends to see him like this.
Steve jumped out of the car and didn't hesitate to bring him into the warmest hug ever, one that Dustin didn't realize he desperately needed until this moment. He let himself cry again, but now he knew that everything will be fine.

Eddie loves Christmas, and Loch Nora has the best lights in the whole damn city.
His van is crunching lazily along the snow covered streets when it catches his eye, a clashing smudge of dissimilarity that sets his brain buzzing again.
The Harrington house is a blot of blackness on an otherwise merrily twinkling street. No lights on the rafters, no decorations in the yard, no wreaths on the door. All of the windows are dark except for one on the second story, a dull glow with a slash of violent yellow where the curtains aren’t quite pulled shut.

Or, Steve is alone for Christmas. Eddie decides to change that.

“Oh, you’re kidding, I love that book,” says Steve Harrington.
Eddie wonders, for about half a second, if he’s somehow fallen into a different dimension. He stares down at the battered copy of 'The Silmarillion' just in case he’s accidentally been reading like… whatever jocks read, a basketball like — handbook, or whatever. He isn’t. It’s still 'The Silmarillion'. Eddie looks up at Steve Harrington, who is standing at the bottom of the stairs Eddie is sitting on, sunlight in his hair, sneakers shifting awkwardly on the tarmac of the school yard. “Uh-huh,” Eddie says, sort of dumbly.

“Legolas’s hair is never described properly in the books,” Steve thinks aloud after putting the seven down after moving a three to an open spot he hadn’t seen. “He’s mostly described as being dressed in green and brown, and yeah, Lucas is right, his head was described as dark, like, once but it was night so most of their heads would be dark. Not to mention,” he continues, blissfully unaware of the silence that’s fallen since he started talking, “there’s the whole continuity thing about the different types of elves and their hair color. Like, Galadriel’s type of elves were meant to be blonde but Elrond’s were meant to be dark hair? Plus there’s the fact that Arwen’s hair is black –”
Steve suddenly realizes that the sound of teenagers arguing is gone. He looks up from his game to find the entire room staring at him, ranging from awe (Dustin) to disbelief (Mike) to something that makes Steve think of girls in high school adjusting their shirts so that he could see them almost flashing him (Eddie.) “Oh,” Steve says.

He whirls around to Jeff.
“YOU DIDN'T TELL ME IT COULD BE LIKE THIS!” Eddie pretty much screams. “I thought it was like basketball on ice, like no contact!”
Jeff, Gareth, and Grant all burst into laughter.
“Who was that?!” Eddie continues, throwing a hand out to the ice. “That was the most beautiful man I have ever seen!”
Jeff can't breathe. He's holding his stomach.
Eddie searches the ice wildly for Harrington. He now understands why people watch hockey. Hot men throwing their weight around!?!?! What's to not love?!Eddie gets dragged along to a hockey game by Jeff's request, and has a total change of heart about the sport.
