She expects a month-long vacation of doing the bare minimum to tolerate her annoyingly attractive husband, but the more she learns about him and his home, the more at home she feels.

“Well, I can’t have that,” Halbrand tells her, and he downs the rest of his draft before placing the empty glass back down onto the bar with a thud. He pulls out his wallet and pays for it. “I’d feel really bad if I left you stranded out here,” he starts to say, tucking his wallet back into his pocket, “so what’s our heading, princess?”
Galadriel’s eyes grow wider, and she finally looks at him. “Our heading?” she asks, like she doesn’t know what he means when she does.
Halbrand nods his head. “Yes, our heading. Where are we going next?”
“We?”
Halbrand meets her eyes, seeing the slight flush deepening the apples of her cheeks. Some of it’s alcohol. Some of it’s embarrassment. Some of it might just be because she finds him attractive if her little lip biting is anything to go by. “Yes,” he agrees firmly, “we. We’re out here together right now, aren’t we? Why not make the most of it?”

Galadriel goes out drinking after a bad breakup, and Halbrand shows up to put all the pieces back together.

“Oh, dear me,” Celebrimbor said, laying his hand on the painter’s shoulder to steady himself. “Halbrand, look away, please. It is . . . shocking enough I am here, but . . . ”
“ . . . But our Galadriel has nothing to worry about with your presence,” Halbrand suggested, earning an unabashed you don’t say look from Celebrimbor, which was followed by a smirk and a subtle hand laid upon his chest. Celebrimbor had a taste for the same sex, if his other hand massaging into the painter’s shoulder was any indication of it.
Halbrand felt his gaze drifting back to Galadriel, who tensed up again when his eyes laid on her.
“Well, for propriety’s sake—” Celebrimbor started to say. Out of the corner of his eye, Halbrand could see the painter pause in his work and glance up at him. Halbrand returned his gaze. Then, suddenly, the painter’s eyes grew wide.
“You—” he said, jutting a finger at Halbrand. “Disrobe immediately.”

Even you, Artanis, turning your back on your lineage, content with the softness of a Sindarin court life…” His voice faded, his hand reached for my cheek, trailing a single finger along the bottom of my jaw before cradling my cheek completely.
And I let him. I basked in the heat of his touch, the flow of zealousness that passed through it into my own being.
“Softness suits you too, Galadriel,” he whispered. “But I do prefer the hard, jeweled edge you once bore as a warrior, Artanis…”
Heart racing. Breath stagnant. I felt my eyes flutter shut in that moment. That ember of my past threatened to roar into life. But I swallowed it back down, pushing it into that softness, the lump in my throat painfully hard as I did so.
