Kojiro, Kaoru and Adam were a pack when they were younger, Adam left, abandoning them both. (Adam is only mentioned and not in any of the shorts) Kojiro and Kaoru showed interest in Reki as a potential pack mate. Reki was in love with Langa, and Langa's connection to Adam was not welcomed by the pack. Langa understood what he was being asked to decide and made his choice to join the pack. Reki and Langa spent several years after coming of age together before mating in the pack.
Hiromi was already part of it, coming and going as he pleases, as part of his nature. Miya wants to eventually be part of it, but there is no rush, he already has a place as family.

Summary

“You’re not here for that,” Berenger said, finally stepping into the room so he could sink to the sofa with a quiet groan of relief. “You’re here because you said I was cursed, and you’ll be leaving as soon as they realize you were lying.”
“What?” Ancel asked sharply, indignant. “I wasn’t lying! And I- I’m not a healer. I have a touch of the Sight but not even True Sight!” At least he finally covered up, pulling the blanket over himself. “I do sex magic, for fucks sake,” he hissed. “I can make you cum fifteen times before breakfast, not-“ he waved his arm in a vague but distinctly huffy gesture, “fix whatever’s wrong with you!”
