The waiting room was still empty. Standing up with a creak from the chair, he lifted his weak legs, he felt the way a sudden cold shiver travelled through his body, almost as if it was warning him of danger.But suddenly feeling a pain in the scar on his cheek was more of a sign than anything else. The pain soared through his cheek, going all the way to his head, and pulsed like his quick heartbeat.
“What the fuck…” Mike muttered before gritting his teeth.

Summary
It's been three years, and everyone seems to have moved on except Mike Wheeler. Stuck in the same routine, days blending together over and over. He's opted to accept his fate, but some feelings can't stay repressed forever.
As he grapples with his demons he realizes escape is an option, leading him down a twisted road of memories past. Reliving each trauma reminds him, however, exactly why he was choosing to conform all along. If Mike can escape his repression and Vecna's curse, he just might rewrite a love story they've heard before.
