Joel remembers the year that Tess had gotten her hands on some Elton John sheet music and Frank had point-blank asked if she thought all gay men liked Elton John, pretending to be legitimately offended. Tess had apologized profusely, something she rarely did, until Frank had cracked and, face splitting open wide, had admitted that he actually is pretty fond of Honky Chateau.
