Hiccup was returning from the northern market with fruit and herbs when he crossed paths with Viggo. They clashed, and in the fight Hiccup fell from a cliff, striking hard and nearly blacking out. Viggo could have left him there, but instead he stayed and when a snowstorm closed in, the two were forced to face the storm together.

Grimmel the Grisly. A sharp thorn of ingenuity, floating like a Cimmerian shade above the rest of the world. He is an omniscient vulture, detachedly assessing what is and isn't worth his involvement. If there is nothing to be gained from an interaction, it does not attract his attention.
Perhaps it would be interesting, then, to consider why someone of his acumen decided to twist the hand of fate.
What you extend mercy towards is beholden to you; that sentiment only grows heavier the longer you involve yourself. It would be irresponsible to consider an act of mercy unimportant, more so if it involves the life of another. Saviors often forget themselves when acting out a rescue, but the impact on their souls can be just as life-changing.

This was a death wish on his end because Y/N stopped and turned slowly toward Shigaraki, a glare on her face. She got up slowly as well. "What. Did. You. Say?"
Shigaraki, unaware or uncaring of his impending doom said, "Are you deaf as well as stupid? I said, don't tell me what to do. And stop being in pain, it's not that hard."
Y/N raised an eyebrow and smiled a biting smile, running her tongue over her teeth, savage mode activated. She untangled herself from Dabi and stood up before kicking her slipper off her foot and up off the floor into her hand. Shigaraki finally noticed his mistake, his eyes widening and hand halting.
"Wait! I didn't mean that! I'm sorry!" He shouted as he ran for his life, Y/N chasing after him yelling profanities and other words.
