“Won't you shut up already?” Morro's voice hissed from all around him.
More hands grabbed at him, pulling on his legs, dragging him deeper and deeper.
All Lloyd could do was flounder and panic.
Thrashing. Pleading. Anything.
And then…
Lloyd woke up on a stone staircase.

“Aaaand that’s 🌛all for tonight, folks✨!!” Tenna appeared front and center on the middle screen with his arms up in the air. “We’re off the air now! Good hustle, everyone! See you all tomorrow!” He bowed repeatedly before waving off the crew of pippins, zappers, and shadowguys, disappearing off screen himself.
…Before sliding back in with a stage whisper, “Whoopsie-doodle! Almost forgot the lights! Mike, if you please?” He clapped twice, and slowly all the lights in the sets and rooms were turned off, save for a few dim ones lining the floor’s walkways.
Battat slumped back in his chair. The day was finally over.
...Or so he thinks.

“This is so exciting!” Ringo accentuated every word with the shaking of her fists. She turned back to look at her assigned temporary classmate-for-a-day. “An average day at a magical school… And an average magic school assignment! With a trail of puzzles to decipher too? Eeehehee!!“
Sig tilted his head at Ringo. “Um… yay?”
The reason why Ringo was so pumped up was because, as it turns out, this assignment was essentially by her request. She was curious what it was like to attend a magic school, and approached Ms. Accord the other day to ask if she and her friends could sit in temporarily. Amazingly, Ms. Accord seemed quite pleased with the idea, and arranged a special day of lessons for the occasion! Now, as their final task for the day, she prepared a scavenger hunt of various specific flowers for each pair to find using clues along the way.

Clive stared up at the ceiling from his bed, clutching a small blue top hat with a black feather in its band. It was hard to do much else when he was quite literally falling apart.
Otherworldly cracks formed across his hand and the left side of his face, extending across his hair like a pane of glass. And hovering just out of place, around the areas where the cracks gathered, were small shards of his body. Black and white squares even danced around him, giving off a faint static buzz. Needless to say, he wasn’t feeling too great!
(An AU where Clive is sent across timelines and is dealing with the effects.)

I'm just posting this here now (July 23, 2024) because I re-read it and had a good time with it, even if it's pretty rough around the edges.
