Summary
“Dick,” Jason says, but there’s none of his usual sarcasm in the name. His voice sounds flat, and a little dead, and then Dick realizes that Jason has his hands clenched around the arms of the console chair so hard his knuckles are white. He’s been watching some footage, something pulled up on the smaller monitor. Looks like the inside of the cave. Training footage? And then Dick gets closer, and realizes exactly what Jason’s been watching, and skids to a halt.

Summary
Jason manages to get his feet underneath him and lifts himself off the ground. He groans quietly, leaning back as far as he feels he can without toppling over, relishing in the feeling of his stiff muscles stretching and relaxing. He still hasn’t heard any movement, any noise, any indicator of a guard or even another captive. He takes a step towards the cell door and realizes with muted disgust that he’s entirely barefoot. He usually prefers the comfort of a pair of merino wool socks and his sturdy combat boots, but he now finds the bottoms of his feet getting very familiar with the soggy concrete beneath him. Jason's no stranger to getting down and dirty, but barefoot in a sewer system is really not where he saw his day going today.

Summary
It isn’t until that night, when Jason is poking at stir fry in a pan that definitely isn’t a wok, that he pulls up the news again and figures it out.
Nightwing had been out in broad daylight, a rare spotting of a strictly nocturnal bird, busting up some minor drug ring. The blue-chevroned blur in the picture has dark hair that is slightly too long, a body that is too short and too lean, although it would take being very familiar with Nightwing to spot the difference. The article is almost pushed off the digital front page, though, buried under the reports of Red Hood’s daring rescue of Gotham’s darling Dick Grayson, who had spent all day kidnapped and definitely wasn’t swinging around rooftops at any point.
“Ah,” Jason says, and tends to his stir fry before it can burn.

Summary
Once out of Jason's reach, Dick slumped against the wall, bringing a hand to his face as he exhaled deeply. It was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain that carefree atmosphere. He felt his control slowly slipping away every time they interacted, his affection seeping out and ruining every second he spoke to Jason. He had to stop, but he didn't know how. His wings slowly gathered around his body, enveloping him as he allowed himself a moment or two to calm his nervous system. He would have to do something about it, and quickly, if he didn't want to be thrown out of Jason's life in the blink of an eye.
Or: five times in which Dick finds himself being cradled by Jason's wings and panics, plus once in which he doesn't.

Summary
Dick was well-known for his big mouth, but sometimes things would be easier if he just shut up.
Still, Jason wouldn't have it any other way.
