Summary
Sawamura Eijun knows who Miyuki Kazuya is - he's cute, he's the catcher of their school's baseball team, and he's good - but he doesn't really know Kazuya outside of that. They get paired together for a school project, much to Eijun's delight, and he gets the opportunity to know him better. Around the same time, he gets a text from a stranger with an unknown number and tries to make a new friend out of it.
Turns out, this unknown number isn't quite a stranger.
A College+Wrong Number AU where they aren't actually strangers... just idiots that take far, far too long to figure that bit of information out.

When a truth or dare game goes awry, Eijun finds himself outside Miyuki’s dorm room late at night and armed with a dare of Kuramochi’s devious design: to ask Miyuki Kazuya if he can kiss him.
Eijun thinks he would rather fall off the mound again at Koshien.

Summary
What stood before Kazuya now was this.
It was top of the third. Seido were leading with two runs to zero, and the current count was two and one. No outs. Kominato was at bat, Kuramochi had just stolen third, and Miyuki Kazuya was in love with Sawamura Eijun.
The consequences all of which he would deal with later.
It’s a summer training away game for Seido. A few months before the third years retire, weeks before the summer tournament, and mere moments before Kazuya finally does something about his feelings for his battery partner. Only, the moments keep getting away from him, and Kazuya isn’t really trying to stop them.
As always, it’s baseball that ends up making the call for him.

Eijun groans. Miyuki Kazuya is a creature of habit. He likes routine. He doesn’t handle spontaneous change well.
Which is likely why he’s denying Eijun’s request to be his fake date for the party tonight.
To be fair, Eijun realizes that it's probably not a good idea to ask his best friend to be his fake date when he's been crushing on him for almost a year.
But it’s Eijun’s only idea.

Crack actually treated srsly this was very fun to read. Very character development and study thought provoking. Author attempting and doing pretty well at keeping OOC still OC? Fun to try to imagine how Miyuki would act if he had the attitude of Sawamura and vice versa. Esp since they still have their canonical backstories and not swapped on that part. Author does a good job of explaining how Sawamura can act like this despite his canonical backstory since in canon world he acts the way he does too cause of his backstory. He is still sawamura.. just different flavoured. Same with miyuki.
