Cor snorts, fiddling with his paper bag, drawing out his croissant and biting into it. He swallows. “Sorry I sent mixed signals.”
“It’s okay, you can still salvage this,” you deadpan. “Take me to a movie and my feelings won’t be hurt anymore.”
“Can’t,” Cor sighs. “I have paperwork.”
