Summary
"Mr. Curtis, I'm not sure how else to say this," she pauses a moment, tapping the pads of her fingers against the cluttered desk before letting out a long sigh, looking Darry right in the eyes. "We don't know where your brother is. No one does."
Darry feels his heart sink as he gripped the arms of the old wooden chair so hard it began creak. Sodapop puts his face in his hands in both anguish and frustration. Darry, who was currently feeling the exact same sorrow, reaches over, placing a strong hand on his brother's back, patting it gently.
After a few moments of tense silence, Darry stands from the chair, eyes hard and determined.
"Then I guess we better start looking."

After a heat of the moment decision, Darry finds himself locked up for a crime he did not intend to commit, forcing the last remnants of the Curtis family to part ways. Two years later, he and Soda attempt to pick up the pieces of their broken family as they search tirelessly for their missing brother.A brother they will soon come to not recognize.
