Summary
The first time Steve knocks on their bedroom door in the middle of the night, he’s got several blankets and pillows in his arms and a sheepish expression on his face.
“Steve?” Jonathan scrubs a palm across his face, yawning. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, nothing,” Steve says. “It’s just…well, Vickie’s over and…I was kinda wondering if I could just crash on you guys’ floor for the night?”
Or: five times Steve has an excuse for spending the night in Jonathan and Nancy’s bedroom, and one time he doesn’t.

Before that night in the Creel House, Steve wrote a series of letters for the Party. “Just in case,” he said when giving the stack to Nancy, hoping they wouldn’t be needed.
More than a year later, Steve is still in his Vecna-induced coma and the Party has read their letters so many times they can probably recite them from memory.

Summary
Eddie figured that after swimming through a portal to a literal Hell dimension and fighting off a bunch of actual real-life monsters, the worst was over.
Eddie is, obviously, a fucking idiot.
[Or: After escaping the demobats, Eddie, Robin, and Nancy have to figure out how to escape the Upside Down while looking after an injured Steve.]
