It's been four months since Will Graham was found naked and muzzled in Mason Verger's home. It's been three months since he was released into the care of omega rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Frederick Chilton. It's been three weeks since Chilton labeled him as a 'Failure to Thrive'.
When Alana Bloom hears that the omega found in her brother-in-law's basement is set for permanent transfer to the Baltimore House for Afflicted Omegas, she brings the case to Hannibal.

Summary
“You stay with me now, Will.” Hannibal urges, placing him back down so that he can continue compressions. He whispers please with each pump of his hands against Will’s chest and breathes life and love back into Will’s lungs. “You stay with me. You can do that, I know you can.”
Hannibal pushes and pushes and begs and goes lightheaded with the lack of air, but he cannot stop because Will still won’t wake up.
