Summary
Punz spoke up first, “The sky is one of the most beautiful things out there.”
Grayson hummed in agreement, he brought his hand up and felt the soft breeze flow past his fingers he imagined it was the purples and black up above running across his small hands.
“I’m gonna be a star one day.”
“A star?” Punz questioned.
“Yeah, when I pass I’ll become one of them and dance amongst the other stars.”
A bit of him expected Punz to laugh and tell him it was a stupid thought but he only heard the sound of blowing grass.
“I would like that,” he heard in a soft tone, “Me and you Purpled, every step of the way we will be together.”
Purpled smiled, not taking his eyes off the sky. For that moment he believed him. Purpled would believe him until he was fourteen years old. Until he knew the true horrors of war.
For that moment Purpled clung to the hope he and his brother would be together forever.
