Some things you lose and can’t ever find again. Some things you drop and leave behind. Some things you just have to learn how to carry with you.

“he had one eye too many.” Roy snorted, “and a bit more sass, too. Fought differently as well, he was clearly trained by Wilson, but he’s got a different body type and build, and he uses acrobatic moves,” Roy explained, then took a deep breath, “but he said something weird.”

“he said… he said that he was disappointed the league hadn’t managed to get Conner out yet.”
Dick doesn't know what Conner means when he says he's 'sending someone his way', but it's not like the mission he just finished up was particularly difficult so he's okay with waiting around a few hours to find out what Conner cares enough about to risk Lex Luthor's wrath.
He was not expecting to find Wally West. Especially seeing as the speedster in question has been dead for years.
Although, in that regard, Dick really can't judge.Series

Dick’s cheek smashed against the sharp gravel, Slade’s body pinning him to the ground. “That was hardly a fight at all, kid,” Slade murmured in his ear before he pulled off of Dick, replacing his body weight by slamming his knee on the small of Dick’s spine and keeping it there. “I’m disappointed, honestly. You trying to lose?”
Dick’s fingers spasmed and curled into the gravel in silence, and then, slowly, Slade shifted. Removed his knee. Slade gave a rough, startled laugh as he made the realization, and Dick heard him sit back, then stand.
“You were,” Slade murmured, sounding almost delighted. Or — at least, as close as a man like that could get.
Dick rolled over and pulled himself up, brushing the debris from his face and his clothes, heart jackhammering as he stared Slade in the eye. Dick swallowed hard.
“I have a deal for you.”
Slade huffed, like that was quaint, the corner of his lip upturning. “...A deal?”
“A deal," Dick said quietly. "One year."

The Titans had told her that Robin disappeared. The media speculated wildly on his absence, especially in the wake of the new, younger Robin recently seen trailing Batman in Gotham, a clear contrast to the Titans’ Robin’s taller stature. There were no clues, only theories. Last she heard before working for Slade, the most popular one was that the Joker killed him.
Of course, given her current place of residence she knows that all rumors are false. Robin’s working for Slade, albeit unhappily. She could speculate on the reasons or she could continue on her day, as uninterested in him as he is in her.

Sendak steps closer and Shiro thinks about statistics —the insurmountable odds against Sendak being discovered in the void of space, the passing ship being Galra and not some scavenger. Pidge or Hunk could probably devise some kind of equation to highlight the absurdity of it, lay out in a spectacular display of numbers just how bad Shiro’s luck really is.
Or: captured by the Galra and awaiting rescue, Shiro's forced to confront who he was, how he's changed, and what that means about the person he's become.

Even though Keith wasn’t overly fond of children, he did enjoy having more than thirty-two cents in his bank account, so he sublet his shitty studio apartment, gassed up his car, and made the four-hour drive.
He'd been under the impression he’d be getting paid to mostly sit in the sun and keep a handful of dumb kids from eating poisonous berries or whatever. He didn’t realize he’d actually have to participate.
