Vi clenches her jaw, something twisting painfully in her chest. "You say that now," she mutters. "But what if one day you wake up and realize—"
Caitlyn cuts her off with another kiss.
This one is slower. More certain.When she pulls away, she speaks against Vi’s lips. "I already know."
Vi exhales, shaky. "Cait—"
"I already know," Caitlyn repeats, firmer this time. "I chose you, Vi. Every damn time. And I’ll keep choosing you, no matter how hard you try to push me away."

Summary
Oh sweet girl. ‘I got you, I got you.’ Oh sweet, sweet girl.
It’s been three weeks since Caitlyn lost her eye, and just under two since she’d gotten home from hospital. Recent days had seen an increase in her mobility, the pain from a bruised ACL, a surgically repaired abdomen and multiple broken ribs becoming more manageable. It was progress, great progress actually given how battered her body had been following the war. It just…presented new challenges.
Because Caitlyn would never have tripped over that stool before.

Vi shifts a little uncomfortably. She suddenly feels aware of everything touching her. The fabric of her (too) soft shirt, pants, and the cool, silky sheets now feel hot and suffocating. “I dunno,” she replies. “Do you want me somewhere else?”
“Vi,” Caitlyn says gently. “You can be wherever you want.”
Or: Vi needs to learn how to let herself have what she wants (she wants to be loved).

Summary
