Summary
The legends and myths promise nothing good comes from devoting oneself to a god. The gods see us as playthings, as a means to an end. Is it foolish to think I could ever be an exception? Perhaps. Nonetheless, I offer myself anyway.
I have spent my life loving a god- a man- I can never have. I have worshiped at his statue's feet and spoken the words he whispers in my dreams and in my ears. I tend to his temple and burn his offerings. I wear his jewels and the crown he placed on my head. In return, I have been gifted with power and status beyond comprehension. Monsters know better than to attack me, for fear of facing my god's wrath. Men and gods alike know better than to attack, knowing doing so runs the risk of trigger my lord's protective tendencies.
I might not have him in the way I wish to, but I have him in the only way I am allowed. It is enough. It has to be.

Not necessarily an ideal situation but I'm willing to try and find the positives. At least so I can have something pleasant to look forward to. Being Bella Swan was an unexpected challenge but, you know, it could have been worse. I could have been reborn into Twilight without knowing anything about anything and have to stumble my way through like Bella had!
