The loss of the wyvern seems to be the furthest thing from Luo Binghe’s mind as he approaches Liu Qingge, eyes flicking between the tendrils holding him in place. Liu Qingge pulls against his bonds uselessly, glaring at Luo Binghe as he does, knowing full well how much the brat will take advantage of his shishu’s situation.

"Liu-shidi…" Shen Qingqiu's frown deepened. "What is that?"
"A short haired beast." Liu Qingge thrust it out towards him.
Shen Qingqiu took it, a furrow carving in between his brows. Then almost absently, he cradled it in his arms like a baby. His long fingers stroked the beast's belly fur as he looked back up at Liu Qingge.
"Why are you giving me this?" He asked. He didn't seem mad, he didn't even seem likely to throw Liu Qingge off his peak like he had in the past.
"It's good for cultivation. You need help with yours. So I found one."
Shen Qingqiu's mouth twisted. "Did you come all this way to insult me?"

“Little Noodle, stop!”
At Jiang Cheng’s cry, the creature manages to twist in midair at the very last second. It flops back into the water with a splash. As Jiang Cheng rows over to drag Wei Wuxian into his boat, scolding him all the while, Wei Wuxian can see the thing swimming just beneath the surface of the water. He thinks he can spy a pair of baleful yellow eyes glaring up at him.
“…did you call that thing ‘Little Noodle’?” He asks, interrupting Jiang Cheng’s tirade.
Jiang Cheng flushes.
“That’s his name!”
Wei Wuxian snorts. “What kind of name is ‘Little Noodle’?”
Jiang Cheng makes a new friend. Wei Wuxian investigates...and nearly gets eaten.
