In theory, this was supposed to have been one of his better ideas.
After convincing the rest of the Hex operators that yes, this would improve the team’s communications and ability to gather intelligence, and no, Arthur, it couldn’t connect to the nuclear reactor, they’d allowed it and handed over their old phones to him. He was kind of proud of himself.
Amir was well aware of the fact he wasn’t military like the rest of the Hex. But just hearing them complement the features he’d designed and implemented, or— Lua willing— actively seek him out with suggestions to improve his hardware and systems? Fuck, that was a specific kind of bliss.
But if Mister Majesty ever found out about what he and the corporal had actually been up to using the new specs, he’d probably die of a tech-related aneurysm.
Ha! Get it? Tech-rot, tech-related. Anyway.
Amir’s been dicking around with the KIM operating system so that now, it not only supports voice calls, but can also send images to other users. This, of course, is great for reconnaissance. No other reasons.
