Just as she was getting the living room set up, the doorbell rang. Her heart jumped into her throat. The walk to the door felt treacherously long, her legs were like led as she dragged herself down the hall.

She took a deep breath and unlocked the door, struggling a bit to undo the chain.

OR
Pomni and the others finally manage to escape the circus but they wake up alone, isolated. Pomni and Jax finally manage to find each other against all odds but things are different now. Jax wants to refuse her help so badly, his pride getting in the way of his better judgement, but he doesn't know how much longer he can do this alone.
