Summary
John found himself on his back, his wrists pinned down on either side of his head. His red shirt was untucked from his jeans, and the top three buttons were undone. Sweat shined on his exposed, and heaving chest. His hair had loosed itself from its tie, wild from the wrestling, a bit of hay stuck in it. Arthur was above him, savoring the sight. He adjusted his knees on the barn floor, straddling John’s hips, and holding his wrists tightly in his hands.
“What exactly were you trying to accomplish here, Marston?”

Summary
“Dutch and I are older. You’re closest to his age.” Hosea puts a hand up to halt Arthur’s protestations at that– “I know you’re an adult Arthur, you’re still the youngest. He can see an easier path to being you than to being me or being Dutch. That’s a valuable thing for a young man that’s been through what he has.”
He moves his hand to pat Arthur’s arm. “I’ll still be showing him things, but I want him taking your example, too. We all have to pitch in.”
Arthur grunts, and frowns, and gnaws at his lip. But ultimately he acquiesces and bows his big head in deference to his fathers’ wills.
John Marston starts, to him, a burden.

Summary
“Arthur?” John’s eyes go wide. A few things happen in the span of just two seconds.
One; Arthur pulls his hand away to reveal a bloody stain, he takes one more step forward, then his knees buckle.
Two; John swears, tripping over his own two feet to catch him.
Three; the two of them go down together.

Summary
“I’m gonna head down the creek jus’ a bit. There’s some deeper water I wanna relax in.”
Arthur should know how to control himself, but then John looks up at him with his big brown eyes.
“If you ain’t too scared, you can join me.”

Arthur is dealt a mission from Dutch; get John washed up. It should’ve gone smoothly, but John loves to push for things Arthur isn’t sure he should have. And surely Arthur has enough restraint.

Summary
At age 27, Arthur Morgan had become a problem for John Marston. He no longer looks at him like he used to when they were younger. After a night of celebrating a good score (as well as downing a bottle of bourbon), John decides to confront him about how he feels.
