Camicazi might not have been the best person to read someone’s behavior, but she noticed how Hiccup’s body stiffened:
- Really?
- Yes. I went with my mother to Berk. Something about a trade agreement over something.
- Over something? What a fine heir. – he said, mocking her.
As if -he-, who had run away from Berk, had any kind of moral ground to comment on her behavior as an heir:
- Stoick is pretty desperate. – he turned to her, a confused look stamped on his face.
- My father desperate? Stoick?
- Yes. Stoick. – she sighed – Berk is in Drago’s sights.---
Hiccup never wanted the chieftainship and always had a thirst for knowledge. Toothless gave him wings to achieve everything he had always wanted. Really good. I especially liked all the politics between Viking clans and the details about viking culture. Great characterisation of characters - they had good traits, they had their faults and it all mattered.
OC's were likeable too, although I prefer when the aren't as important to the story as main characters.
One thing I was tired of though - a lot of focus on babies and children. They were likeable but I was honestly a little tired and bored reading from the perspective of children - also why do the main characters always have to get kids at the beginning of their relationships?
Besides that it was a great read and a great continuation to the first story.Recommend to read, I will certainly re-read it sometime.
Warning though - last few chapters have both explicit violence and adult scenes.

Summary
When Stoick finds Hiccup and his mysterious, masked friend right before Drago attacks, the events of HTTYD 2 deviate along a different storyline— one where Stoick survives, Hiccup finds himself with both parents, a strengthened bond forms between Hiccup and Toothless, a wedding is being planned, more adventures ensue, several new threats arise, and the dragons never leave.
