Emma Swan is the Captain of the Legends of Tomorrow, a group of time-traveling misfits tasked with protecting the timeline. Regina Mills is the Director of the Time Bureau and Emma’s boss. Regina’s also a pain in Emma’s ass (the feeling is mutual, thankyouverymuch.) But they have to work together to make sure history is not forever corrupted by rusty hooks and evil clones. They might end up falling in love on the way. Or The self-indulgent Legends of Tomorrow SQ AU no one asked for.

Emma and Regina have known each other their whole lives and they hate each other. They became co-presidents for the debate club, the horror! They're always arguing, competing, and "may-the-best-woman-win." When they'd been both disqualified in the State Debate Championship Solo Round, everyone encouraged them to team up and win the State Debate Championship Team Round. They agreed because they need to have an achievement to put at their College Application. It was hard, to say the least. Along the way, they bonded, but NOT friends, they'd insist to be colleagues. Til one night, they had their first kiss. For them who claimed Love is a Waste of Time, they denied their feelings. Still, their relationship continued to grow and they can't deny themselves anymore. They wasted their time.

The second time they meet is five years later, they're in an airport, and they are on the same flight - Regina is happy that she can get away after. The third time - another 5 years later - they surprisingly click as friends, grow close, mess up badly, and nearly lose each other because of stubbornness and old fears. Oh, and then there's Henry, a binding factor between the two without anyone realizing.
