“No,” she gasped, taking off in its direction. “Don’t— don’t leave me again!” she pleaded one more time.
It was a blur of adrenaline and emotion. She was moving before she could think — a shadow across the sleeping city, her feet pounding against concrete, then gravel, then tile. Her eyes locked on the glowing blue above her.
“Jinu!” she cried. “Please!”
Rumi didn’t know what she was chasing anymore — a ghost, a miracle, or a mistake, but didn’t care. She couldn’t care, she couldn’t even think, because she had lost him once.
She would not lose whatever was left of him, too.
Or,
Jinu came back from the dead with her name on his lips — and now Rumi, who once held his soul in her hands, must learn how to love him out loud in a world that never knew he stayed.

Jinu, blocking the fire with his body.
“No!” Rumi screamed. “I wanted to save you!”
He wasn’t supposed to be here, and yet his presence felt like a promise.
“You did save me,” he whispered, his voice straining against the pain of the fire. “You gave me my soul back. And now, I…”
Her sword glowed blue, reacting to the pulse of light that now beamed from Jinu’s chest. His soul. And Rumi realized at the last second what Jinu was about to do, was about to sacrifice.

Or, everything is the same, and Jinu still protects Rumi from Gwi-Ma. Except Jinu joins Rumi and doesn't die for it.

“Okay.” He whispers, quiet but meaning it when he says, “I want this. I want to deserve your trust. I want to stay.”
Jinu feels it before he sees it. The change in the air, the way the Honmoon pulses beneath his feet. His eyes crack open just in time to see its strings wrap around him. Not constricting or planning to pull him down but— cradling. Like a safety net. It shimmers but it’s not just blue. It’s a multitude of colors— rainbow and iridescent. It’s brief, gone in seconds, but Jinu can still feel it. The safety of it, preventing him from falling or getting pulled down into the depths of the demon realm.
His head is reeling. Both he and Rumi are panting in the aftermath. It’s for these reasons that Jinu allows himself some grace for how long it takes for him to once again notice the silence— the absence.
Gwi-Ma is gone. The quiet has returned.
(Or Rumi helps Jinu escape Gwi-Ma’s wrath a little more permanently after their duet, causing him to be freed from his control but also making things complicated. This also leads to Rumi willingly revealing her patterns and a team up between Huntrix and the Saja Boys. Turns out saving one soul can lead to saving a lot more.)

Summary
He places the box in her hands and robs her of the chance to reply with a quick peck on the lips, steering her towards the couch with a giddy hum. Rumi is excited to open it, in spite of herself. It wouldn’t be the first time someone special has gotten her a gift, but Jinu was different — in more ways than one. His gift could be the simplest thing in the world and it would still be special because it came from him.
Although the confidence seems to wear off of him the minute she starts to rip off the wrapping paper; first she notices him shift in place, then hears him clear his throat nervously. When he starts bouncing his leg, Rumi leans back against him in an effort to make him stop and silently tell him to relax.
His arms tighten around her once she’s down to just the box, and when she opens it, her breath catches.
