Summary
He always figured if Janey had kids he would stick around to look after them. If she died without any, then, well, he would kill himself.
Lucy complicated that plan.
He and vault girl have been acquainted seventy-three years now, been sharing a house and bed the last forty-eight, but it still took about two decades to get in the habit of calling her his wife.
It’s just semantic. California has done well for itself, but it will be a while yet before they have an up and running marriage registry. But for all intents and purposes, Lucy Howard (she started using his name without permission) is his wife.

Summary
Looking back, Cooper always expected Novac would end with a bloodbath. Lucy’s plan to earn back his trust, though? That took him by surprise.
Preview:
“I already used you as bait once, remember? Consider us all squared up, doll.”“We weren’t…on friendly terms then,” shrugged Lucy. “This feels different.”
It felt like something, all right.
“We’re even,” he muttered.
Lucy looked up at him. “Does it feel like we are?”
Cooper paused. Thought about it.
Remembered the last name she shared. And how it felt like pain and regret and hope every single time he looked at her.
“Not even close.”

[SPOILERS FOR S2E7]

And at first, he’s sure she’s a hallucination. But there’s an angry bruise on her cheek that hadn’t been there the last time he saw her. Wherever it is her daddy had taken her, she’s fucking broken out already. And she’s here. Pointing a gun at his face. Her own an angry mask, bleeding another kind of hurt.
He doesn’t bother trying to fight it. She might as well. Hell, he’s not even mad at her.
He deserves this.

Summary
“So… I’m sorry if this is just horribly nosy but… how long are we talking?”
Maybe the ghoul had been expecting the question, because he didn’t break his stride or hardly blink. “Few decades,” he said blandly as he looked forward, boots crunching rocks and sand underfoot in a steady tromp.
Lucy was sure she’d misheard. “A few decades?”
He was a lot louder this time, looking at her in annoyance. “Okay, fine, six or seven of ‘em. Is that precise enough for you? Damn, woman.”
Oh, wow. Wow.
This explained so much.
Lucy takes it upon herself to solve a problem.
