Palm pressed against the cool glass stretching over the large windows in the Parlor Car, she watched the sunset-rust nebula swirling over the endless inky backdrop in tendrils, its living, breathing, colorful clouds colliding in a never-ending cosmic dance. If she closed her eyes, she could imagine a star whale piercing through, scattering them in its wake. Like watercolor flowers blooming on water. Or startled birds.
A paper kite.
